Player Spotlight: Josh Dolling
Our next highlighted player, Josh Dolling, joins CITY 2 after a successful college career at Missouri State University. Josh was a vital part for MSU's offense, helping the team make the post-season in three straight years in a row, including their 2021 Sweet 16 run, while subsequently earning All-American honors for those 3 seasons. Dolling is known for his game-winning goals, and currently holds the record for MSU with 17 total in his career there.
The 6 foot 3 inch, 24 year old Forward from London, England, started his soccer journey in the Manchester United youth system before switching to Burnley FC when he was 16. Josh continued with Burnley FC's U18 Academy, scoring 24 goals and adding 5 assists in his time there. Josh also spent 1 season with Prescott Cables of the Northern Premier League Divison One, in 2016, where he scored 6 goals and assisted on 5, before coming to MSU in 2017 on a scholarship.
The Forward line for CITY2 looks to be a little thin, compared to the other positions that have been announced. Currently, Josh Dolling and Dida Armstrong are the only players with Pro contracts, and not from CITY's Academy. Based on this, his age and experience, it's apparent Josh is the senior and preferred Forward to begin the season.
