Injury report for STL City SC ahead of match vs Seattle
by Henry Chappell
St Louis City SC is looking to break a two match losing streak this Saturday when they host the Seattle Sounders at CITYPARK. Manager Bradley Carnell has confirmed that everyone on the squad is fully available for the match. This is the first time since late in the 2023 campaign that City has a full roster, which presents a big opportunity against a struggling Seattle side.
There are two players for City SC who are currently listed on the MLS injury report, since they have battled similar injuries as of recent. While their availability isn't in doubt, the recent injuries may or may not determine how big their role is on Saturday.
Joshua Yaro — A hamstring injury has kept the defender out since April 6 in his 63 minute appearance against FC Dallas. Yaro was an active participant in training this week. Bürki and Carnell both discussed the positive tension in the training this week because of all of the now healthy players fighting to be in the next starting eleven, which Yaro will definitely look to get back into after the recent appearances of Kyle Hiebert.
Eduard Löwen - In a press conference last week, Löwen made the devastating announcement that his wife currently has cancer. He did come on as a substitute against Cincinnati and was met with applause from the home crowd in Ohio. This upcoming match holds a high possibility of Löwen being involved again, which would no doubt reciprocate a similar reaction from the Louligans at CITYPARK.
Last week included seven changes in the starting eleven, with two players included, Hosei Kijima and Akil Watts who made their first MLS start of the season. Carnell and company will be expected to make changes to this week's lineup as well and with the amount of competition displayed in training this week, a different lineup with regular starters and past regulars returning should be an interesting situation of development.
